Does it work in my country? Yes. Although you buy the software in US$ you can set your country and the currency you want to display your prices in. Every aspect of the software can be fully customised to suit your country, for example, if you are from the US the proposal date for your fixed price agreements will be in the US date format.
Again, the software is fully customisable which means you can change the language throughout.
From within the software in a couple of clicks you can add new modules for pricing other services. Each module is only £3.99 + vat per month (or $4.99 per month if you are outside the UK).
From within the software in a couple of clicks you can add additional users. For each user you add it is only £1.99 + vat per month (or $1.99 per month if you are outside the UK).
Bookkeepers, by their very nature, are analytical and can sometimes suffer from detaillitis (me included). So to cobble together a brochure and do my first cloud pricing practically on the hoof was always going to be a strange experience. So what did I learn? Just get out there and do it! Don’t wait for things to be perfect.Outcome? A new client at 7 times (yes 7 times!) my normal rate. Granted probably won’t happen all the time but Cloud Pricing certainly takes the stress out of promoting my services at a decent rate. Thanks Mark, Sarah and Jane. I think this is going to be a rather interesting journey.
Yay! I’ve managed to get the software to provide a price I am happy with for this client, and I managed to get my packages all sorted out. Have been fretting all morning about speaking to this client but I went through the quote with him via join.me and he’s taken the package I wanted him to take! It’s a lot less than some would expect, but it’s a price I am happy with and I can build on that. Woohoo!!!
Cloud Pricing has become an integral part of our pricing process - we wouldn’t be without it. Using Cloud Pricing I experienced what I like to call, ‘My week of WOW!’ In one week, in four meetings with four existing clients, I added just over 12% to my turnover. There is no way I could have achieved such a fantastic result without the systematic and totally transparent approach to the pricing conversation that the software and brochures help to achieve.
Closed my first client for accounting services on a monthly retainer using the software!! Granted, the client selected the lower package, but said he would upgrade to the more expensive package once I prove my value to him and his secretary/bookkeeper. Loving the new software!
I used the cloud pricing software with a client for the first time and think I have my first success! This was a second meeting with a prospective new client. Originally the client only wanted once a year accounts and used excel/paper for record keeping. I sold the idea of the cloud in the first meeting and suggested bookkeeping too. Today I gave her a quote for both bookkeeping and annual accounts. She has picked the bookkeeping full option at £237 per month and wants to use Receipt Bank. There was no query at all over the price - the focus was on the differences between the options. I had to give her the quote for both bookkeeping and accounts to take away because her husband didn’t come and it is his business. Ideally I would have liked to agree it there and then, but I am fairly certain they will go with the bookkeeping because she has been doing all the paperwork and no longer has time. I noticed they were previously paying 2K for annual accounts and tax return only. I think I will get self-assessment returns too. From this first experience I think clients see the price as “the going rate” rather than something you just estimated. I will be ordering some printed brochures this weekend!
I’m walking on cloud 9 after the successes I have had recently using Mark Wickersham’s Cloud Pricing software – it has resulted in over £8000 of fees I would have charged NOTHING for previously! As a result of the pricing software I now have a consistent and professional way of pricing which has given me enormous confidence. In the past I would have looked at what other accountants were charging in the industry, now I use the software with confidence and just talk to prospects about the packages and the prices. If they have any objections I now have the confidence through the software to adjust the package content not the prices! I no longer do work for nothing!
I have been using Cloud Pricing in my practice for a long time. Clients like to see a price in front of them when you are meeting, and this makes the whole process a lot smoother. It is also true to say that with this transparent process, clients appreciate the value of what is on offer. By presenting a clear option, often by explaining three different packages and price points, this has helped me increase fees by on average 20% over the last two years - in one case over 50%.
Using the concepts of value pricing and the Cloud Pricing software I have successfully signed a client at what would have previously been a one-and-done type QuickBooks set up for approximately $3,000. Using the Cloud Pricing brochures (still in a Word document), value pricing concepts, and the Cloud Pricing software I now have a new, long-term client, with monthly income, (auto pay on the first of every month) for a total engagement of $14,000. Aside from the obvious financial upside, utilising the brochures and software helped the client better understand what it takes to set up, implement and customise QuickBooks for their environment. It has also strengthened my position with a new client for becoming their long-term advisor and business partner on an on-going basis. When concepts (value pricing) meet the right tool (Cloud Pricing software) the possibilities are endless.
I recently signed up a new client. It was a small limited company. In the past I would have happily charged £60 per month. I followed the Cloud Pricing process. My brochure really impressed the client. The software then revealed a price which was £347 per month. That was too high for the client. So we worked together to change the package and when the price showed £257 the client said, “Yes”. Not only that, the up-sell process added another £29 per month. I can’t believe the client agreed to pay me £286 per month by the end of the meeting – that’s 304.6% more than I would have normally quoted.
Oh no! not another piece of software, something else to set up…… That’s what I thought! BUT even if you don’t initially go through the set up, just by spending some time looking at the theory you’ll understand how to be bolder in your pricing and achieve what you deserve. Recently we engaged with a new business set up, where in the past we would have offered a monthly fixed fee of say £195 plus VAT. By reviewing the cloud pricing process it became obvious that the package should be charged at considerably more because of the value we were giving. We agreed a monthly fee of £375 plus VAT. Not only are we pleased but the client is delighted as we spelt out in detail what we were providing. Our competitors offered lower fees but didn’t explain what they were giving and our client was left feeling that we were providing much more value.
Now anyone in the office can quickly and easily quote fees for prospects. By asking the potential client (or upgrading existing clients) a few simple basic questions we can provide a quote in minutes, over the phone or preferably by screen sharing online. It used to take us days to calculate and overthink and respond to the prospect. By having the pricing theory “behind the scenes” and the nice presentation in front of the client there is less back and forth about the price. It makes us look more confident and professional and saves time. Thank you!!
